This year marks the 26th Annual Tomato Festival in Downtown Fairfield. The festival is produced by the Fairfield Main Street Association and draws more than 25,000 visitors to Fairfield’s Historic Downtown.
Guests are invited to enjoy free tomato samples, live music on two stages, a children’s carnival, tomato eating contests, artisan & crafter booths, a classic car show, and beer & wine gardens. Heirloom Tomatoes and other fresh produce will be available for purchase. Food vendors will feature a wide variety of tomato-related foods such as, fried green tomatoes, tomato jam, and tomato ice cream.
The event will take place in Downtown Fairfield on Saturday, August 19 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm and Sunday, August 20 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Admission and parking is free.
Back by popular demand is the VIP Wine, Food, and Brew Experience at the beautiful Solano County Events Center. This exclusive event does require tickets, which are $45 in advance and $50 at the door. Tickets are available for purchase here.
New this year is the Tomato Festival Cooking Competition which will take place on Saturday at the Il Fiorello Olive Oil Company. Enter to win in four categories; sauce, soup, salad, and salsa. A $10.00 entry fee will contribute to the cash prize awards. Entry forms and rules are available here.
