The City of Fairfield Economic Development Division hosted delegates from the Supervisory Board Working Division of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Hubei Province, China on January 22, 2015.
The purpose of the delegates’ visit was to engage Fairfield officials in a discussion about the City’s best practices in economic development. Councilmember Rick Vaccaro welcomed the delegates and Senior Economic Development Project Managers Bryan Briggs and Ken Cantrell each briefly presented various aspects of their day-to-day activities in the Economic Development Division.
Briggs and Cantrell discussed various aspects of retail recruitment and retention, the City’s involvement in trade shows, the City’s continued relationships with both property and business owners, commonly used economic development programs, Fairfield’s strong customer service and pro-business attitude, and the City’s state of the art water and wastewater systems and their importance to Fairfield businesses.
After a brief Q&A, the delegates were able to take away some great economic development ideas and a better understanding of what makes Fairfield a preferred location for businesses in the Bay Area.
