On February 9th, Congressman John Garamendi held a meeting of his Manufacturing Advisory Committee at Anheuser Busch in Fairfield. The event was co-hosted by the City of Fairfield’s Economic Development Division and the Solano Economic Development Council. Approximately 50 attendees, including representatives from several manufacturing companies throughout the Congressman’s district, listened to the Congressman speak about trends in manufacturing and his plan for continued advocacy in Washington for bipartisan solutions to the serious challenges facing manufacturers and American jobs. The discussions also included guest speakers from Manex, GoBiz, First Northern Bank, Travis Credit Union, and the Alliance for American Manufacturing. Fairfield’s Mayor, Harry Price, spoke about Fairfield’s ablity to support its manufacturers by offering a high-quality abundant water supply, state-of-the-art sewer treatment systems, the city’s ideal location along major transportation routes such as I-80, I-680 and Hwy. 12, affordable industrial land and buildings with rail service and a pro-business local government. The meeting was concluded by a tour of the Anheuser Busch facility and its manufacturing capabilities.
