Fairfield wastewater system wins state award – The City of Fairfield has always pride itself on its state-of-the-art water and wastewater systems. As part of its economic development efforts, the City has used this asset to encourage new businesses to locate to the City.
The Fairfield Suisun Sewer District was recently awarded the prestigious 2013 California Water Environment Association’s (CWEA) award for the state’s best collection system of its size (0-249 miles). The District was selected by a committee of the 2012 CWEA collection system award winners.
The CWEA awards program honors exceptional wastewater agencies in areas that include compliance, maintenance, operating procedures, and training programs. This is a testament to the City’s commitment to both its residents and its businesses by investing millions of dollars on a reliable wastewater system.
