Fairfield Welcomes Wind Energy Developments
City of Fairfield Welcomes Wind Energy Developments – The City of Fairfield has always been a big proponent of renewable energy, particularly wind, which has benefitted our industrial business parks. InBev Anheuser-Busch in Fairfield’s Solano Business Park recently installed a 1.5 megawatt wind turbine with a second one on the way. The Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District also installed four 50-kilowatt wind turbines that are helping with its power needs. A few more wind projects are in the pipeline and should be coming online soon.
Airports are usually built in windy locations, and Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield is no exception. Despite the flight path restrictions the City has to work with being near Travis Air Force Base, the City’s Planning and Building Divisions have become specialists in wind energy development and work closely with Travis Air Force Base.
The Business Expansion Journal took notice of Fairfield’s efforts and recently wrote an article about it. You can read the story here.
